One book. One month. One goal.
OneBookAZ
for Kids
is an exciting program hosted by libraries and other partners across the state The driving force behind this project is its goal to
bring communities together through literature and reading. It encourages communities across the State of Arizona to read the same book and participate in discussion and programs centered on that
book during the month of April. We hope to have a similar program every year with a different book.
The title selected for the program for 2004, our second year is,
The Warm Place by Nancy Farmer. When Ruva, a young giraffe, is captured and sent to a zoo in San Francisco, she calls upon two rats, a street-smart chameleon, a runaway boy, and all the magical powers of the animal world to return to "the warm place" that is home.
